Ingredients
- 2 3/4 to 3 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 5 Tbsp. softened margarine
- 2/3 c. very hot tap water
- 1 egg (room temperature)
Directions

1In large bowl mix 3/4 cup flour, sugar, salt and yeast.

2Add softened margarine; gradually add hot water to dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.

3Add egg and 1/2 cup flour or enough flour to make thick batter.

4Beat at high speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl.

5Stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough.

6Turn out onto lightly floured board.

7Knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes.

8Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top.

9Cover.

10Let rise in a warm place until double in bulk, about 1 hour.
