  • 2 or 3 fresh green onions, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 c. finely chopped celery (and some of the leaves too)
  • dash of hot sauce
  • generous dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. light salt
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 pt. frozen tomatoes or 1 (No. 303) can tomatoes

Directions

    Mix the first 8 ingredients in large iron skillet and cook over medium heat until vegetables are crisp-tender and all the pink is gone from the meat.

    Add the potatoes and the tomatoes. Simmer, stirring frequently to prevent sticking, for about 15 minutes.

    Put in a 350° oven and bake for 45 minutes or until potatoes are done.

    Add the salad and garlic bread and you have a fine meal for 4 people.
