- 1 (1 oz.) pkg. dry onion soup mix
- 2 c. water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 5 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, divided
- 1 egg
Directions

1Combine soup mix and 2 cups water in small saucepan; cook over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes.

2In small bowl, dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

3In large bowl, mix together the hot soup, sugar, oil and 2 cups flour.

4Beat well with electric mixer.

5Let cool to lukewarm.

6Add to the cooled mixture the yeast, egg and remaining flour to make a soft (not sticky) dough.

7Place dough in a well-greased bowl, turning to grease top.
