  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups water
  • 12 ounces lager beer
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    In pot, melt butter over medium heat.

    Stir in onions.

    Reduce heat to medium low and cook, stirring, until soft and golden, about 15 minutes.

    Add water, beer and salt and pepper to taste.

    Increase heat to high and bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until flavors are blended, about 15 minutes.
