  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 6 c. apples, pared, cored and sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. heavy cream
  • 1 egg yolk

Directions

    Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.

    Mix well.

    Add apples, tossing until evenly coated.

    Spoon into pastry shell, mounding in center.

    Dot with butter.

    Bake in 400° oven for 30 minutes or until crust begins to brown and apples are tender.

    Remove pie from oven and lower temperature to 350°.
