- 1 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. flour (plain)
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
Directions

1Cream butter; add sugar.

2Beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.

3Add eggs, one at a time.

4Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking powder and salt.

5Add to mixture, then add milk and orange juice.

6Stir in flavoring and orange rind.

7Pour in tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 25 to 30 minutes.

8Cool for 10 minutes in pan.

9Remove from pan and cool completely.
