- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 lb. orange slice candy, chopped
- 1 lb. dates
- 1 lb. raisins
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Sift 3 1/2 cups flour; combine creamed margarine and sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating after each. Coat candy and nuts with remaining flour; mix buttermilk and soda. Add to flour mix. Pour into greased tube pan or 2 loaf pans. Bake at 230° to 300° for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours. Put pan of water on low rack to keep cake moist.
