  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. chopped pecans
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda in milk
  • 3 1/2 c. flour (reserve 1/2 c. to dredge candy, raisins, pecans and coconut)
  • 1 lb. orange slice candy
  • 1 c. raisins or dates
  • 1 c. coconut

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar together.
  2. 2
    Add eggs, one at a time, beat after each one.
  3. 3
    Add buttermilk, soda and flour.
  4. 4
    Add 1/2 candy that has been cut in thin slices, also raisins, pecans and coconut that have been dredged with flour.

    Mix all ingredients together. Bake 1 hour at 350° or until done when tested with toothpick.
