- 1 c. butter or 2 sticks margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 c. cake flour or plain flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- pinch salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/3 c. buttermilk
- 1 lb. dates (chopped)
- 1 lb. orange slice candy (chopped)
- 2 c. nuts (chopped)
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add buttermilk and soda; mix well. In a separate container, mix flour with candy, dates and nuts, then add creamed mixture. Bake in greased and floured tube pan 2 1/2 hours at 275 degrees.
