Orange Supreme Shortcake

- 1 pound cake, baked
- 8 medium oranges
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Peel and remove all membrane from oranges, leaving only pulp. Break into bite size pieces.

2Do this over large bowl.

3Juice will collect in bowl as you work.

4Add enough water to juice to make 1 cup liquid.

5Chill orange bits several hours.

6Just before serving, melt butter over low heat, add flour and stir.

7Add sugar and juice.

8Cook until thickened and shiny.

9Remove from heat and add vanilla.

10Slice pound cake thin.

11Put orange bits from fridge on first slice.

12Cover with second slice.
-
13Dribble hot sauce over top. Sauce can be reheated as needed over candle warmer or in microwave.
