- 1/2 pkg. Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 pkg. Cheddar cheese
- 1 bunch scallions
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1 loaf French bread, buttered
- 2 c. milk
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
Directions

1Combine yeast, shortening, sugar, salt and 3 cups of the flour.

2Heat milk to 120° to 130°.

3Add milk and beat 200 strokes. Stir in as much of the remaining flour as possible.

4Knead 10 minutes on floured surface.

5Place in greased bowl, cover with damp towel and let rise until doubled, 45 minutes to 1 hour.
