- 2 lb. round steak, cut into 1-inch strips
- 1/3 c. soy sauce
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 2 green peppers, cut up
- 1/2 lb. mushrooms
- 8 oz. can water chestnuts
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
- cooked rice or noodles
Directions

1Brown steak.

2Add 1 1/2 cups water, soy sauce, sugar, pepper and garlic.

3Cover and cook slow for 45 minutes.

4Add carrots, green peppers, mushrooms and water chestnuts.

5Cook 15 minutes longer.

6Use cornstarch and water to thicken liquid for gravy. Serve over cooked rice or noodles.
