Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/3 c. chopped celery
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green bell pepper
- 1 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 (16 oz.) can chop suey vegetables, drained
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
- 1 (3 oz.) can chow mein noodles
Directions

1In skillet, cook beef, celery, onion and green pepper until meat is browned.

2Drain.

3Add 1 cup water; bring to boiling. Combine the cornstarch, sugar and ginger.

4Blend in the soy sauce and 2 tablespoons water.

5Add to beef mixture in skillet.

6Cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly.

7Stir in the drained chop suey vegetables.

8Break apart the frozen peas and add to beef mixture.

9Cool quickly.

10Turn into a 2-quart casserole. Bake, covered, in a 400° oven for 45 minutes.

11Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.

12Serve over chow mein noodles.
