  • 16 oz. green beans
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 oz. mushrooms, drain (keep juice)
  • 8 oz. water chestnuts, drained
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
  • 4 strips crisp bacon
  • French fried onions
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • enough milk when combined with mushroom juice to equal 1 1/2 c.
  • 1 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar
  • 2 tsp. soy
  • 1/8 t. Tabasco
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Directions

    Melt 2 tablespoons butter and saute vegetables until tender. Drain liquid.

    Melt stick of butter.

    Remove from heat.

    Gradually add 4 tablespoons flour.

    Stir in milk/mushroom juice.

    Simmer until thick.

    Remove from heat.

    Add Cheddar, soy, Tabasco, salt and pepper.

    In casserole, combine beans, vegetables, cream sauce, crumbled bacon.

    Sprinkle French fried onion rings on top.

    Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350° until bubbly.
