- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
- 1 Land O Lakes All-Natural Egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Decorator sugars, if desired
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
- Food color, if desired
Directions

1Combine 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, 1 cup butter, egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla in large bowl.

2Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.

3Add flour and baking soda; beat until well mixed.

4Divide dough in half; wrap each half in plastic food wrap.

5Refrigerate until firm (at least 2 hours).

6Heat oven to 375F.

7Roll out dough on lightly floured surface, one-half at a time (keeping remaining dough refrigerated), to 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness.

8Cut with 4-inch cookie cutter.

9Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.

10Sprinkle with decorator sugars, if desired.

11Bake for 6 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

12While cookies are still warm, use toothpick or straw to make holes for ribbons to hang cookies as ornaments.

14Combine 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 cup butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla in small bowl.

15Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often and adding enough milk for desired frosting consistency.
