- 6 veal shanks
- olive oil
- garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups beef bouillon
- 1/2 cup red wine
- flour
- salt and pepper
- onion
- bay leaf
- basil
Directions

1Mix flour, salt & pepper. Dust veal shanks with flour mixture. Add oil to a covered oven proof pan large enough to hold shanks. Add garlic when oil is hot. Add shanks abd brown on both sides (approx 5 minutes per side). Add broth, tomateo paste and wine. Add onion, bay leaf and basil. Bring to a boil. Cover and place pan in oven. Bake for 2 hours, turining shanks every 1/2 hour.
