- 1 (4-pound) beef brisket
- 2 gallons water
- 3 tablespoons pickling spice
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup cola soft drink
- 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
Directions

1Bring brisket, 2 gallons water, and 3 tablespoons pickling spice to a boil in a stockpot; reduce heat, and simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Drain; cover and chill brisket 8 hours.

2Place brisket in a lightly greased shallow roasting pan.

3Stir together 1 cup ketchup and next 3 ingredients. Drizzle one-third of sauce over brisket.

4Bake brisket at 350° for 3 hours, basting every hour with remaining sauce.
