  • 2 lb. lean stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 c. canned tomatoes
  • 6 carrots, cut into strips
  • 3 or 4 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1/2 c. celery
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
  • 1 slice bread, crumbled
  • 1 c. water
