Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 carrots, cut in 1 1/2-inch lengths
  • 3 celery stems, cut in 1 1/2-inch lengths
  • 2 to 4 potatoes (large chunks)
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
  • 1 slice bread, crumbled
  • 3 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 2 onions, cut small
  • small can mushrooms
  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. stew meat
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Mix all ingredients well and put in roasting pan with a tight lid.

    Bake at 225° to 250° for 5 hours.

    Serve as is or in bread bowls.
