- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 4 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 3/4 c. sweet milk
Directions

1Place yeast in warm water; set aside.

2Sift together the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.

3Add yeast mixture.

4Cut in the shortening.

5Add milk; stir until well blended.

6Pour onto floured wax paper.

7Roll out; cut out biscuits.

8Place thin biscuits in pan.

9Place wax paper between layers.

10Place in refrigerator.

11Can be kept for 1 week and taken out as needed.

12Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.

13Makes about 24 biscuits.
