Ingredients
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. shortening, melted
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 6 to 8 c. soft wheat or bread flour
Directions

1Stir the yeast in the warm water and let stand until it dissolves.

2Mix the milk, sugar and salt in a bowl.

3Add the dissolved yeast and mix well.

4Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough.

5Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead until it bounces back when touched with a finger.

6Place dough in a buttered bowl and turn to grease completely.

7Cover with plastic wrap and put in warm place to rise until doubled in bulk (about one hour). Punch down and cover again with wrap.

8Refrigerate covered until ready to bake.

9Roll into 2 1/2 inch balls and bake in preheated oven at 400° for 15 minutes or until done.

10Cool on wire rack.
