Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. salad oil
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2/3 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Shred cabbage and place in bowl.

    Shred onion and pepper and place on top of cabbage.

    Sprinkle sugar over the top; do not stir.

    Bring to boil the oil, vinegar, celery seed, mustard and salt.

    Pour over cabbage mixture while hot.

    Cover and refrigerate without stirring for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

    Will keep crisp for a week if refrigerated.
