Ingredients

  • 1 pt. (about a dozen) shucked large raw oysters
  • 1 c. oyster liquor
  • 3 c. whole milk
  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • 1 slice from large onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf (optional)
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • chopped chives (optional)

Directions

    Drain oysters and reserve liquor.

    Dice oysters into a saucepan.

    Add liquor and slowly bring to a boil.

    Immediately remove pan from heat.
