- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 3 tsp. salt
- 2 dashes pepper
- 4 Tbsp. water
- 1 qt. oysters with liquor
- 2 qt. scalded milk
- paprika
Directions

1Combine flour, salt, pepper and water.

2Blend to a smooth paste.

3Stir in oysters and their liquor.

4Simmer oysters over very low heat until edges curl, then pour into scalded milk. Remove pan from heat; cover and let stand 15 minutes.

5Have tureen and soup plates hot; drop in some butter or margarine.

6Reheat stew briefly and serve piping hot.

7Pour into tureen; sprinkle with paprika.
