- 1/2 cup oil, bacon drippings, or pan drippings
- 1 small fresh onion minced
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 3 tbsp of flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 cup broth or water
Directions

1*** if you have cooked something drain out all but approximately 1/2 of a cup of oil.

2do not clean bits in the bottom of skillet ..

3add onion and garlic in skillet to saute.

4when onion is partially cooked... 2-3 minutes.

5add flour.

6fire should be on Med/ high.

7cook flour until it turns brown.

8YOU MAY BE SCARED IT BURNING BUT IT IS NOT!!

10when it is the color of Carmel candy add broth.

11IT WILL BUBBLE AND STEAM SO STEP BACK AS YOU ADD BROTH.

12let it return to bubbling and turn it down on Med/ low.

13*** after 10 - 15 minutes gravy should be done.

14adjust salt and pepper to taste.

15*** if gravy is to thick add a little broth or water.

16*** if it is to thin ... take a coffee cup and fill it half full if COLD water add 1 tablespoon of flour and mix well with a fork.

17pour only half of the water flour mixture in.

18again let it boil and turn in back down.

19this should thicken it.
