- 1 c. white pea beans
- 1 (13 oz.) can chicken broth
- salt, pepper and garlic salt to taste
- 1 1/2 c. pasta shells, elbows, etc.
- 2 Italian sausages, cut into 1/2-inch coins
- 1/2 c. Ragu or any tomato sauce
Directions

1Soak the beans overnight in 3 cups water.

2Saute sausage; add to bean water.

3Cook until beans are soft, but not mushy.

4Add seasonings, broth and tomato sauce; simmer just until flavors blend.

5This can be made one day in advance.

6Before serving, cook pasta and refresh with cold water before adding to bean mixture. If added while hot, pasta will absorb too much of the liquid.
