- 500 g lasagna noodles
- 125 g butter
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 500 g mincemeat
- 1 medium tomatoes, chopped
- salt and pepper
- 4 tablespoons tomato puree
- 12 cup cheese, grated
- 50 g butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 60 ml milk
- 1 egg
- 14 cup cheese, grated
Directions

1Cook and drain lasagne.

2Cook mince, onion and butter together for 2-3 mins, stirring often.

3Add tomato, salt and pepper, tomato puree.

4Continue to cook until meat is tender.

5Blend in 1/2 cup grated cheese.

6Put 1/2 of the lasagne in greased casserole dish.

7Cover with all meat sauce.

8Top with remaining lasagne.

9Make the bechamel sauce: Melt 50g butter, blend in 3 tbsp flour and cook gently for 1-2 minutes Gradually stir in milk.

10Cook, stirring frequently, until thick.

11Beat in 1 beaten egg and 1/4 cup grated cheese.

12Pour bechamel sauce over dish.

13Bake at 180 deg.

14C for 40 - 50mins or until top nicely browned.
