- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. cold water
Directions

1Combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.

2Sprinkle cold water (one tablespoon at a time) evenly over surface. Stir with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened. Shape into a ball.

3Chill 5 minutes. Roll pastry to about 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.

4Place in a 9-inch pie plate.

5Trim off excess pastry along edges. Fold edges under and crimp.

6Prick sides and bottom of pastry with a fork. Bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

7Cool on a wire rack.
