Ingredients

  • 3 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 tsp. dill weed
  • 3 or 4 shakes garlic
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 slices Russian rye bread (or rye bread with caraway seed)
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can milk or water
  • 1/2 small carton sour cream

    Wet the bread under water and wring out.

    Mix all but last four ingredients together, including the bread.

    Make a ball of the meat and dredge in flour.

    Brown and drain most of the grease off.

    Put meatballs in a crock-pot.

    Add soup, milk or water and sour cream.

    Pour this mixture over the meatballs and cook on low heat in the crock-pot.
