Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. chopped green peppers
  • 1 sm. onion, chopped
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 2 (17 oz.) cans small green peas, drained
  • 1 can pimento strip, drained
  • 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and thinly sliced
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup (undiluted)
  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs

Directions

    Melt butter in a saucepan on low heat, add green pepper, onion, and celery, cook over low heat until vegetables are tender. Remove from heat, add remaining ingredients except bread crumbs. Spoon mixture into a greased 10 x 6 x 2 inch baking dish, sprinkle with bread crumbs.

    Bake uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
