Ingredients

  • 2 cups chicken broth or 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
  • 12 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup dried split peas

Directions

    Bring broth to boil in a medium saucepan.

    Add the garlic, basil, onion and split peas and return to boil.

    Reduce heat, cover and simmer until liquid is absorbed and peas are tender, about 30 minutes.
