Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package dried split peas
- 12 cups water
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 12-1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 lb ham shank
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 12 cups carrots (chopped)
- 1 cup celery (chopped)
Directions

1wash and sort peas.

2Put peas, boullon cubes, onion garlic oregano,ham and bay leaf to boil.

3Reduce heat and simmer for about 1-1/2 hrs.

4Give a stir every now and then.

5Remove ham from soup and remove all the meat from the bone.

6Cut meat into bite size pieces and return it back to the soup.

7Add carrots and celery.

8Cook 1-1/2 to 2 Hrs more till you get desired thickness.
