Peach Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. very ripe peaches, mashed
  • 2 Tbsp. melted margarine
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 c. nuts or raisins (optional)

Directions

    Mix the first 5 ingredients.

    Add the peaches, margarine and egg.

    Fold in nuts or raisins.

    Pour in loaf pan (greased and floured).

    Let stand for 20 minutes.

    Bake at 350° for 45 to 55 minutes.

    Cool in pan for 15 minutes.

    Remove and cool on wire rack.

    Freezes well and tastes best when sliced the day after baking.
