  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 6 peaches, sliced
  • 3 egg yolks (reserve whites)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 3/4 c. cream, half and half or evaporated milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Mix together first 3 ingredients.

    Press into 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 15 minutes.

    Cook next seven ingredients on the stove until thick.

    Pour over crust.

    Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff.

    Gradually add sugar.

    Spread over filling.

    Brown in oven, watching closely.
