Peach Dumplings

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. sliced peaches
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/2 c. milk

    Sift flour.

    Measure and sift with baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening and add milk. Turn into lightly floured board. Roll in sheet 1/4-inch thick.

    Cut in 4-inch squares. Place 1/2 cup thinly sliced peaches in each square.

    Sprinkle with sugar.

    Dot with butter.

    Moisten edges of dough.

    Press lightly together. Place in baking pan. Bake in hot oven at 425° for about 35 minutes.
