Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 6 c. fresh peaches, peeled and sliced or frozen sliced peaches
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, softened
  • 1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 or 3 c. self-rising flour

Directions

    Dissolve the yeast in the warm water; add the oil, sugar and salt to the starter.

    Add yeast, work in flour.

    Add until the dough is of kneading consistency.

    Knead well, shape and put in oiled loaf pans.

    Oil and put into shape.

    Let rise until double. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.

    You may need to place aluminum foil loosely over the top while baking to keep from burning the top while cooking the inside.
