  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • about 48 candy Kisses

Directions

    Combine all ingredients (except candy Kisses) using lowest mixer speed until dough forms.

    Shape dough into balls. Roll in extra sugar.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.

    Immediately press a candy Kiss into the center of each cookie.

    (Makes about 4 dozen.)
