- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. white Karo
- dash of salt
- 1 c. raw Spanish peanuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Place sugar, Karo and salt in an iron skillet (only).

2When this begins to boil, stirring constantly, add 1 cup raw Spanish peanuts.

3Continue to stir until nuts begin to crack and pop.

4The syrup begins to look slightly caramel and nuts smell roasted.

5Do not overcook or nuts will taste burnt.

6Cook from 10 to 15 minutes.

7Remove from heat and fold in vanilla and soda.

8Mix thoroughly.

9Pour out and spread on buttered cookie sheet.

10Cool and break.
