- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. white Karo
- 1 1/2 c. raw peanuts
- dash of salt
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Grease a large cookie sheet with butter or spray with Pam. Place on dough board or trivet.

2In a heavy bottom pan, combine the water, sugar and Karo.

3Cook over medium heat, stirring gently until mixture spins a thread.

4Sprinkle in the peanuts; stir until the peanuts pop and the mixture turns an amber color.

5Turn off heat.

6Add salt and butter.

7Mix well.

8Add the soda.

9Stir quickly.

10Mixture will foam.

11Pour immediately onto sheet.

12Spread thin.
-
13Thinness is what insures the candy will be brittle.

14When cool, break in pieces.

15Do not make on a rainy day.
