  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. unsalted peanuts
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    In a medium heavy saucepan, combine sugar, water and syrup. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.

    Continue cooking, stirring constantly, to hard crack stage or until mixture reaches 285° on a candy thermometer.

    Remove from heat.

    Add peanuts and baking soda; beat for 3 minutes.

    Immediately pour mixture into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

    Let cool completely in pan.

    Break into pieces in pan.

    Makes 1 1/4 pounds.
