- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine (soft)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. raw shelled peanuts
Directions

1In a heavy, medium saucepan over medium heat, heat to boiling sugar, corn syrup, salt and water, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.

2Stir in peanuts.

3Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until mixture reaches 300° on

4a candy thermometer or until a small amount of mixture dropped in cold water separates into hard and brittle threads.

5Remove from heat and quickly stir in butter or margarine and baking soda.

6Immediately pour into greased cookie sheet.

7Cool.

8Snap candy into small pieces. Store in tightly covered container.
