10 steps
Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. white Karo syrup
- 1 c. raw peanuts
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions
-
1You will need to butter a cookie sheet or pizza pan (at least 1/4 to 1/2-inch deep) and set to the side.
-
2In a cast-iron skillet, mix sugar, syrup and peanuts on high heat until mixture boils to a color one shade darker then you want your brittle to be.
-
3You must stir often.
-
4This takes about 15 to 25 minutes, depending on how hot your stove gets.
-
5After mixture reaches desired color, completely remove from heat.
-
6Quickly stir in baking soda.
-
7Be careful!
-
8As soon as the baking soda hits the mixture it will begin to foam and grow.
-
9Pour onto your buttered cookie sheet and let stand until completely cooled.
-
10Break apart and enjoy the easiest peanut brittle ever.
