  • 1 c. white syrup
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 12 oz. raw peanuts
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cook sugar, syrup and water in saucepan, bringing to a slow boil. Cook until it spins a thread or 230°. Add nuts; continue to cook until nuts smell roasted or 300°. Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla and soda. Stir until blended. Pour onto 2 greased cookie sheets. Leave until completely cooled. Break into pieces.
