- 3 c. milk, scalded
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3 or 4 Tbsp. smooth peanut butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 baked 9-inch pie shell
Directions

1Scald milk.

2Mix together sugar, salt and cornstarch until well blended.

3Add scalded milk, very slowly, stirring until smooth.

4Add beaten egg yolks.

5Cook mixture in top of double boiler, stirring often, until thickened.

6Remove from heat; stir in peanut butter and butter until well blended.

7Pour into baked pastry shell; top with meringue made from 4 egg whites.
