Peanut Patties

- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. white Karo syrup
- 1 c. evaporated milk (Milnot)
- 2 c. raw peanuts or pecans (for pralines)
Directions

1Put ingredients in large pan.

2Bring to a boil.

3Then just as it starts boiling, turn fire down very low (just bubbling).

4Time for 1 hour, stirring about every 10 or 15 minutes.

5Take off fire and add 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon butter and red food color to make pink for peanut patties (none for pralines).

6Beat until creamy (I just keep stirring until it gets kind of sticky), about 10 or 15 minutes.

7By spoonfuls, make patties on waxed or foil paper.

8They will have to set several hours before they get hard. (I leave mine overnight.)
