  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. yogurt (plain) or buttermilk
  • 1 c. pears, peeled and cut up thin

    Cream margarine, gradually beat in sugar.

    Beat in eggs, one at a time.

    Combine all dry ingredients.

    Add to egg mixture, alternating with yogurt.

    Stir in pears and vanilla.

    Pour into buttered dish or loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inches.
