- 3 lb. winter pears, pared and sliced (8 c.)
- 4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. raisins
- 1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
- 2 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 1 c. broken walnuts
Directions

1Mix all ingredients except walnuts in Dutch oven.

2Heat to boiling, stirring frequently.

3Boil uncovered, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens slightly (25 to 30 minutes). Stir in walnuts.

4Immediately pour mixture into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace.

5Wipe rim of jars.

6Seal and process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes.

7Makes 4 to 5 pints.
