- 1 cup shelled pecan pieces
- 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (packed) light brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 8 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, in small pieces
- 8 firm pears, peeled, cored and sliced
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Ice cream or whipped cream
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2Butter an eight-inch-square baking dish.

3Spread the pecan pieces on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for six to eight minutes.

4Combine the toasted pecans with a cup of flour, the brown sugar, salt and cinnamon.

5Rub the pieces of butter in with your fingertips to make a crumbly mixture.

7Toss the pears with a tablespoon of flour and the granulated sugar.

8Spread in the baking dish and sprinkle evenly with the topping.

9Bake one hour until brown, bubbly and crisp.
