- 5 lb. white sugar
- 8 lb. pears
- 1 large can crushed pineapple
Directions

1Put pears in a heavy kettle or canner with tight-fitting lid. Pour sugar and pineapple over pears and set overnight to form juice.

2Bring to a slow boil and cook for 3 hours.

3Don't open lid or stir during the entire cooking period.

4Put through strainer. Put back in kettle and bring to boil, then put in jars.
