- 1 lb penne pasta
- 15 ounces canned peas
- 2 cups whole milk (or more, depending on how thick you like your sauce)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil (optional)
Directions

1Cook pasta according to package directions and drain.

2Melt the butter in a skillet, and add flour to form a paste.

3Add the milk and whisk for a few minutes until it begins to thicken.

4Add the salt, pepper, and garlic powder (adjust these seasonings to your taste, of course).

5Fold in the peas and pasta. Continue cooking until heated through and serve immediately.
