  • 15 ounces canned peas
  • 2 cups whole milk (or more, depending on how thick you like your sauce)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil (optional)
